Montevideo, in Uruguay, looks like this

I have fond memories, and much to say, about the charming, crumbling, and dreamlike city of Montevideo. It is dignified and European, yet feels old and sad, the way people speak of Buenos Aires, like a massive European ocean liner that’s become shipwrecked on the South American continent. It puzzled me, in part, because I had known nothing about it. And, having been there, it could still be an imaginary place, a literary creation brought to life.

Until I find time for more words, here are some pictures.
